चलते चलते जीवन के टेढ़े मेढे रास्तों पर जब कभी गिरूं तो सम्भाल लेंगे वोह। डर लगे अंधेरों से या अपनी ही असफलता से तो गले लगा प्यार कर लेंगे वोह। पढाई में सवाल न आये या हो ज़रूरत पैसे की तो मेरे कंधे पर हाथ रख देंगे वोह। कोई हो न हो मेरे साथ मेरी खुशियों में मेरे ग़म में परछाई की तरह हमेशा मेरे साथ होंगे वोह। ऐसे ही एहसास लिए सोचता हूँ हमेशा ऐसे ही शायद होते होंगे वोह - पापा।।

Today is another historic day like 14 Aug 2015. On that day first time in the history of any country in the world, veterans of armed forces on protest at Jantar Mantar were manhandled by police and NDMC workers. Today the whole community of serving and retired service personnel have been shoved, manhandled, shamed and disrespected. In a typical politico-bureaucratic move the Govt has today announced their "acceptance and implementation of OROP" with following conditions:- 1) Base yr of 2013 2) 01 Jul 2014 as date of implementation as it is post their taking over on 26 May 2014. 3) Average of minimum and maximum pension for each rank to be given safeguarding interest of those getting higher than average. 4) Not applicable to those who took pre-mature retirement. 5) 5 yearly review for equalization. OROP as defined by all Govts incl this one even today , by the Khoshiaty committee and the Supreme Court is " Uniform pension to be paid to armed forces...

OROP: A DROP IN THE OCEAN 1.  Last few days have seen some unprecedented actions, reactions and lack of action regarding "demand" of OROP by veterans of Indian Armed Forces. Debates on audio and visual media, messages on social media and heated arguments over a glass of beer in messes / clubs have focused on how successive Govts have failed to fulfill long standing demand of OROP, how the wily bureaucrats are putting spokes in its implementation, the base year for calculations and the estimates of budgetary allocations and cash outgo for the treasury. Few enterprising guys have even put up calculated revised pensions for various ranks. People in armed forces - both serving and veterans are agitated that their 'dues' are not being given and that while others like MTNL/BSNL losses of 10000 Cr are being written off, $ 10 Billion aid is being given to Nepal and 6000 Cr worth loans have been waived off, Govt is nickpicking and calculating how it can save a few / few h...

मैं घर आऊँगा  इन जंगलों की बरसाती उमस में  रेगिस्तान की तपती रेत की गर्मी में  बर्फीले पहाड़ो की सर्द हवाओं में  अपना फ़र्ज़ निभा कर मैं घर आऊँगा ! पिछली छुट्टी पर किया था निश्चय  कि अगली बार घर की नयी छत बनवाऊंगा  छुटकी के दहेज़ के लिए प्रोविडेंट फण्ड से पैसा निकाल लाऊंगा  बाबूजी को इलाज के लिए हस्पताल ले जाऊंगा  अपने सब इरादों को पूरा करने मैं घर आऊँगा! रात को चौकी पर पहरे पर खड़े हुए  या फिर घात लगाकर दुश्मन के  इंतज़ार में आतंकवादी का पीछा करते या फिर उनकी गोली का जवाब देते हुए  हर बार मैं खुद से कहता हूँ चाहे कुछ हो जाये मैं घर आऊँगा ! अबकी बार मुझे छुट्टी मिलेगी या नहीं  आज रात के पेट्रोलिंग के बाद मुझमे सांस होगी या नहीं  अगले हफ्ते ट्रेन में बैठकर आऊंगा या तिरंगे में लिपट कर पता नहीं  पर यह वादा है तुमसे मेरा - एक फौजी का वादा  मैं घर आऊँगा  एक दिन मैं घर आऊँगा!!

खुलकर मुस्कुराओ रौनक बढ़ाओ ज़िन्दगी के उतार चढ़ाव भूल जाने दो! अंधेरों को खींच कर पीछे रौशनी को बाहर फैल जाने दो !! कहीं जिस्म है टूटता आत्मा कहीं है लहूलुहान! दिलों में न रखो समंदर आँखों से दरिया बह जाने दो!! अंधेरों को खींच कर पीछे रौशनी को बाहर फैल जाने दो !! किस ने क्या कहा किस ने क्या किया क्यों करें परवाह इसकी हम! दिल की सुनो दिल की कहो बाकी सब भूल जाने दो!! अंधेरों को खींच कर पीछे रौशनी को बाहर फैल जाने दो !! कुछ लोग छोड़ गए साथ कुछ रिश्ते नए हैं अभी! क्या मेरा क्या तेरा जज़्बातों की दौलत लुटा जाने दो!! अंधेरों को खींच कर पीछे रौशनी को बाहर फैल जाने दो !! आएंगे कई नए मुकाम अभी मुश्किलों से भरे कितने रास्ते भी! है अगर दिल में भरोसा और होठों पे मुस्कान इम्तिहान ढेरों हो जाने दो!! अंधेरों को खींच कर पीछे रौशनी को बाहर फैल जाने दो !!

गीली रेत पर लिखा वोह नाम, नरम दुधिया चांदनी से धुला धुला सफ़ेद सीप और छोटे छोटे कंकड़, एक छोटा सा नीला कांच का टुकड़ा! मैना जैसी वह चिड़िया और शाम की ठंडी हवा के मस्त झोंके गवाह अभी भी हैं मेरी बर्बादियों के गर तुम्हे याद न हो आज !! मेज़ पर आधा बिछा हुआ मेरा तौलिया और एक गुलाब फर्श पर गिरा तुम्हारा दुपट्टा और मेरा रुमाल! चादर की सलवटें और तकिये पर काजल का निशाँ झुटलाते हैं तुम्हारी बेवफाई चाहें कोई कुछ भी कहे आज !! मेरे दिल की ख्वाहिशें तुम्हारे अधूरे जज़्बात तुम्हारी नम आँखें और मेरे बाज़ुओं का हार! ज़माने की बंदिशें, रवायतें और तुम्हारा निकाह जज़्ब करके अपने आंसूं और ज़ख्म याद करता हूँ तुम्हें आज !! बेहद याद करता हूँ तुम्हें मैं आज !!!
